FAQ

What's your turn around time?
Depending on the amount of work requested, 7-14 days. Sooner if it's a small job.

Just how does your design process work?
You shoot me an email/fill out my contact form telling me just what you'd like and I make it for you to the best of my ability. I'll send some mockups your way, and if you want something changed I change it, then we keep that up until you're 100% satisfied with the work I've done. Once everything is approved on your end, I'll send you the designs in all the file formats and sizes you need.

How do you accept payment & when do I pay you?
Through PayPal hooray! The mockups I send you will have faint watermarks that will be removed on the final images once I receive payment. Websites & blogs will be set to private/unpublished until payment is received.

Can I use my own photos/images I've purchased for my cover/promo materials/etc?
Of course! Just keep in mind that images need to be a large size and in a high resolution, or we run the risk of the final design coming out pixelated. If you have a particular image you love that's too small, perhaps I can work it into a larger design for you. If you're unsure of the size of an image, contact me and we'll work it out from there.

Will you convert my book into a .mobi, .epub, etc?
This is a service I no longer offer, sorry. In the past I stripped a document of formatting in order to prepare it for Smashwords, which generates all of these file formats for you. You can find some great ebook formatters here.

What is a "pitch card?"
It's a card for an author who is pursuing traditional publishing to offer an agent at a writers' conference with the pitch for their book on one side, and their photo & contact information on the other. That was a very long sentence. Sorry. Basically, authors don't really have business cards, and if you're just starting out it's a little presumptuous to have a business card that says "writer" on it, but you want to offer an agent something to remember you by. So offering a pitch card allows prospective agents to remember your pitch after you've delivered it, or to read it later when they have the time to truly grasp it after the bustle of a conference. Here's an example.

Will you maintain my blog/site/Facebook/Twitter/etc once you've built/designed it?
No, I'm a stay-at-home mom and simply don't have the time. Besides, these sites are supposed to be an extension of you and all the cool and awesome things you're up to, things I'm not there to record and update on. They'll only succeed if you put ~yourself ~ into them. Not to get all existential about it . . . but yeah. The answer is no. Sorry.

Createspace/Smashwords/etc is so confusing! Will you just upload my book cover files for me?
Sure, this is something I offer for an additional $5. You can create a temporary password for me to access your accounts and I'll take care of all the uploading for you.

I love my new business card/bookmark/poster/etc! But . . . I don't know where to print it. Will you upload/print/ship it for me?
Sure, this is another service I offer for $5. I'll upload the files to your site of choice (or recommend a site to you) and just tack on the price of printing to your quote. I can even send the files to a copy/print place for you to pick up in person (Staples, Walgreens, UPS, Office Depot, FedEx, etc).
